Design agency Sumo was the big winner at the North-East Fresh Awards, held to recognise the best of the region's advertising and design talent.
The Newcastle based agency won the overall Grand Prix, having won Gold, Silver or Bronze awards in nine categories. Most of the North East's top agencies were represented, Paula Kelsey, director of the Fresh Awards said: "The high standard of work means that the North-East will be a region to be reckoned with at the national final and we were delighted to see so many new organisations taking up the challenge. With over 160 guests this year, the event underlines the commitment we have to showcasing some truly fantastic work.
Sumo's triumph was the second time in succession the agency has taken the top prize at the 'Freshs'. Managing Director Jim Richardson said "It is a real pat on the back for our team, who work so hard to keep our work fresh and creative."
Sumo's clients include The National Trust, Tyne and Wear Museums and Art Council England. The Fresh awards winners were announced at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead.
