SUMO has won the contract to develop the design and marketing for three prestigious Culture and Heritage venues run by York Museums Trust.
The York Castle Museum is one of York's largest visitor attractions with over 250,000 visitors a year, it includes over 100,000 artifacts, the condemned cell in which notorious highwayman Dick Turpin spent his last night and the iconic recreation of a Victorian street. The Museum was described in Rick Steves Great Britain 2005, as 'Truly one of Europe's top museums'.
York Art Gallery which was relaunched in March after a £445,000 refurbishment. The Gallery displays temporary exhibitions which currently include paintings by Monet, Rembrandt and Titan paired with contemporary art.Yorkshire Museum & Gardens was York's first museum, it is home to some of Europe's finest Archaeological and Geographical collections. Complementing the permanent collections are temporary exhibitions like Walking with Dinosaurs and Ice Age.
The contract with York Museums Trust follows similar projects with Tyne and Wear Museums, The Great North Museum and Shetland Museum and Archives.
